On January 1,
2006, millions of Medicare-eligible
individuals in the US began their
participation in Medicare's new Prescription
Drug Program (Part D). Some people --
including more than 88,000 Alabamians who
have both Medicare and Medicaid -- were automatically assigned
to a prescription drug plan.
